Energy and Exercise for Life
We
all know that exercise is as vital as healthy eating, so here’s a little
inspiration to get you going and
helping you to achieve a more active lifestyle.
Regular activity doesn’t just make you look good, it decreases risk of
illness, boosts energy, uplifts your mood and increases longevity – so
what’s not to like? Adults need to be active for at least 30 minutes
five days a week. This doesn’t mean going down to the gym or going to
every fitness class on the timetable, any activity will do as long as
you experience a rise in your breathing, heart rate and body
temperature. So brisk
walking, DIY, climbing the stairs or gardening will all count if you do
them for long and hard enough. Of course, coming to a FitHaven
class or personal fitness session will help that too!
Stepping it up…
If you are already exercising moderately, try to include more vigorous
aerobic activity for at least 20 minutes three days a week. This
includes anything where your breathing becomes heavier, such as cycling,
fitness walking, jogging, swimming or an aerobics class.
Funkier & Fun Fitness…
If conventional sports or the gym simply doesn’t appeal to you then have
a think about these alternative workouts:
Try Dance Fitness or Fitness-Salsa – these are great fun
workouts that require your to just simply move your body to fantastic
music – you won’t even feel like you are working out but in an hour can
burn as much as 400 calories.
Try Legs, Bums & Tums classes – these are not only fat burning
they also target tone the problematic areas that most women face – the
thighs, buttocks and abdominals. Also low impact and fun, this class
makes it a safer alternative to jogging or running.
Get outside and in the great outdoors for some Fitness-Walking
– this session will invigorate your senses, burn fat and tone muscles
and strengthen your bones too. It is great for those of you who lack
co-ordination and requires very little equipment other than a good pair
of running or walking trainers.
Bounce & Burn the Fitness Ball Way! Sounds interesting – yes
well you can raise your heat rate, burn fat as well as strengthen and
tone the core abdominals, back, waistline and improve posture all on the
Fitness-Ball.
FitHaven runs a whole range of exercise and fitness classes that
