Saturday 23rd February

Buckden Millennium Community Centre

On Saturday morning, 23rd February, 2008, at the Buckden Millennium Community Centre, I ran my very first Fitness-Pilates for Men masterclass with a fabulous group of gentlemen. Men of all ages (30 - 70+) from varied sporting, working and retired backgrounds were all there with one aim, and that was to find out what Fitness-Pilates was all about and how it could help them gain inner core and back strength, better balance & posture, greater flexibility and range of movement and feel strong and toned from the inside-out.

Fitness-Pilates was originally a regime created by a man (Joseph Pilates), for men, so with that in mind, I devised a challenging yet manageable workout specifically for the male form and delivered it to a room full of gents who were willing to give it a go, most for the first time and a few who already come to my regular weekly sessions.  We took to our mats with the body bars, mini balls and resistance bands for a full body workout of standing, balance, all fours, side lying, seated and abdominal Fitness-Pilates exercises and we even managed to relax and stretch-out and the end too.

I have received fabulous feedback from the morning and will continually encourage ALL MEN to participate in my weekly Fitness-Pilates classes as part of their health, fitness and general well being regime.

A special thanks to Mary for helping with refreshments and Neal for taking the photo's on the day too!
