LEKI Nordic Walking... is a total body workout and involves 90% of your body muscles.  It helps actively engage, strengthen & tone the arms, shoulders, chest, back and core abdominals as well as develop and maintain a better posture and because it creates resistance this helps to build better bone density which can combat osteoporosis!

LEKI Nordic Walking...burns approximately 400-600 calories per hour (compared with 280 calories per hour for normal walking).

LEKI Nordic Walking... increases your heart rate, oxygen consumption and caloric expenditure without increasing your perceived rate of exertion.  You work at your own pace and level.

LEKI Nordic Walking...releases pain and muscle tension in the neck and shoulder region and increases the mobility of the neck, spine and hips as well as reducing the load on knees and other joints.

LEKI
Nordic Walking... can also improve flexibility, strength and range of movement in your lower and upper limbs by using the poles in a fun, active warm and cool down together with Fitness-Pilates, body conditioning and modern stretch techniques.

LEKI Nordic Walking... is for absolutely everyone!  It will give you a great sense of general wellbeing because you get outside in the fresh country air, boost your vitamin D levels, have fun, laugh and gossip with a group of friends, get fit, tone up and just feel great!

This is the BEST outdoor workout you could ever do!

What to bring & wear to a Nordic Walking Session.

  • Wear correct running, walking or approach trainers with socks on (No heavy duty walking boots please and they must have a good range of movement from heel to toe if you do!)

  • Wear lots of light layers and bring waterproofs if it raining or looks like it is going to rain!

  • Wear hat and gloves in the colder weather to protect hands and keep warm.

  • Bring your own Nordic Walking Poles if you have them.  Please note that Trekking Poles are not suitable for Nordic Walking as they are an entirely different type of pole. Bring sunglasses, caps and apply sunscreen if it is a very sunny and hot day

  • Bring plenty of water or your favourite hydration drink and a snack if you like also.

  • A small rucksack or bum bag to wear may be useful too!  Your hands need to be free.

  • Bring an extra pair of shoes to change into to drive home in if the weather conditions are wet as it can get quite muddy in places.

  • Make sure you have used the toilet before you come as some places do not have toilet facilities unless you don't mind having a "nature break"!

  • Bring your dog if he/she is controllable with other people and dogs (Please let me know if you are going to bring your dog)

  • Bring your husband/wife/children if they would like them to have a go for a half price fee.  Children from 13 upwards.
