The group was an even split of experienced Nordic Walkers to those who had never tried it before. It was so great to meet even more keen and enthusiastic outdoor exercisers and I was delighted to show more people the delights, simplicity and ease that nordic walking can bring. This form of exercise has got to be one of the most accessible for everyone and if you can walk you can nordic walk - it is as simple as that! We were definitely blessed with the best nordic walking weather conditions possible with a welcoming warm temperature, a soft inviting breeze, a bit of cloud cover with the sun just about shining through. The 8.71 miles took us 2 hours and 23 mins to complete, walking at an average speed of around 3.4 miles per hour, with 2 small pit-stops along the way we finished back at the pub around 12.45pm (thanks to Don Bethune for the GPS information) - so that is not bad going at all!
After the walk, the sun came out in full and most of the group stayed for
a well deserved drink and pub lunch in the garden to extend what had
already been a fabulous morning into the early afternoon too. Neal took some fantastic photo's
of the group so enjoy the ride...!
Many thanks to all of you who took part
and make it a really special May Bank Holiday event:
