Saturday 16th May.  Little Paxton Village Hall & Playing Fields

On a blustery but sunny Saturday 16th May at Little Paxton's Village Hall and playing fields the FIRST Scarecrow Festival was hosted and what an absolutely fantastically fun day it was for everyone.  There were over 80 scarecrows in the contest which was judged on the Friday by Heart FM.  Bill and Ben won the first prize and this was presented to them by Emma from the Heart FM Breakfast show.  There were also fabulous outdoor displays and stalls plus plus great music by Mixology on the playing fields, a huge craft fayre in the main hall plus delicious teas and coffees by the WI in the back room.  We would like to thank everyone who came and said hello to us and especially those who took part in our Nordic Walking demonstrations.  We ran 3 demonstrations in total and managed to get all ages including children having a go around the small arena plus trying out Nordic Bootcamp too!  There was a great atmosphere, lots of families and people of all ages and the whole event was a huge success.  It took a lot of organising and there was a fabulous 'Scarecrow' team who helped put this whole event on.  We look forward to taking part it in again next year and if you have any questions about this event or Nordic Walking please email mel@fithaven.co.uk
