Welcome to Fit.NEWS bringing you the latest news, stories and FitHaven session information to keep you, your family and your body Fit, Healthy and Active for the rest of the summer and the new Autumn Term ahead!  It has been such an immense Summer Term this year with an amazing timetable of session for everyone I really don't know where to start but here goes...

 

 

...Summer 2010 Holiday has been a crammed packed full Class/PT/Nordic Walking timetable each and every week with ALL ages from 2 years old up to 80+ enjoying some sort of fun fitness and exercise activity of the following: Summer Fit 'n' Fun's - Fun Family Circuits, Drums Alive, Dance-IT, Nordic/Sporting Challenge, Chillout TaiChi, Yoga-lates, FitPilates & so much more... Summer Holiday Body BootCamps - Kick-IT, Pump-IT, HotBodyBooty & the AMAZING DrumFIT... Fitness-Pilates which had a fun, challenging and body-toning theme including pick-you-own Pilates... BIG BALLS BLAST - everything and more on the BIG Stability Ball... FIT-Pilates for MEN - extremely essential and major fun MEN on the MATS... Summer NewBody - an amazing express session that really worked it hot, happening & hard... PLUS WOW's/PT's/KettleBOYS/KettleBELLES/KettleKIDS - all in the PT Studio which had a stream of amazing people of all ages, abilities and conditions with upbeat energy, drive and motivation who are seeing amazing results... Nordic Walking which includes Health, Fitness, Challenge & Weight Loss and special summer NW session included the fabulous Granchester/Cambridge Summer Outing NW, Nature Reserve Nordic Walking, Pimms on Oak Lawn, Perry Breakfast + a trip up to Nottingham to Instructor train with British Nordic Walking... PHEW!

So...... we are now taking a late summer break, whilst Mervyn Foster takes our Monday and Saturday Nordic Walks for us (see details below) and then we are back from Saturday 4th September with TWO sessions running from - 8.30am Nordic Walking (Experienced/Improver) and 11am Induction to Nordic Walking (Beginners) both from Southoe - Please BOOK for the Induction session please - email mel@fithaven.co.uk...

 

Class News This Week...

Week FOUR
and the final week of
Summer Fit 'n' Fun' took us outside for the FINALE FUN Family FitCamp and Sporting Challenge  Click HERE for PHOTOS...  These sessions have been SO MUCH FUN for EVERYONE that we have decided to run a a Family Special during the October Half Term - watch this space!  HUGE Thanks to EVERYONE who came along and enjoyed the varied theme's each week that got the WHOLE family moving more, ENJOYING exercise and having great FUN in just ONE hour!

Nordic Walking...
Nordic Walking sessions continue to run next week with Mervyn Foster whilst we away (listed below) PLUS the *NEW* Induction to NW Course starting on Sat 4th September...

Monday 23rd August (St Ives).  Meet at St Ivo Leisure Centre, Westwood Road, St Ives, Huntingdon, PE27 6WU, Great walk - map/grid ref: 225/TL307719 at 12:20pm for a 12:30pm start, the walk will be 5 miles.

 

Saturday 28th August (Hinchingbrooke Park).  Meet at the car park of Hinchingbrooke Country Park, Brampton Road, Huntingdon, Cambs, PE29 6DB- map/grid ref: 255/TL222718 at 08:20am for a 8:30am start, the walk will be 4.7 miles

Personal Training, WOW and KettleBells...
Neal's *NEW* KettleBell Workshops... FULL - Waitlist in Operation! A 'six week series' for you to learn how to work with this extremely versatile piece of equipment that brings you cardio, fitness, toning, strength and fat burning all in one session - utterly unique!  Starts Tuesday 7th September, 6.30pm, Buckden Millennium Centre for six weeks and the price is £60 for the series.  Payment up front with your booking. My second week of Friday morning 'WOW' and I am well and truly HOOKED!  Still buzzing from the session the week before I go back for more and I can't get enough of what these small 'bell-like' weights plus other interesting exercises can do. Even though I do enough 'exercise' during my working week and am somewhat 'physically exhausted' I know I need to do something for myself that is completely different, unique and essential and the after effects and benefits of working with weights are enough to keep me coming back for more!  It is a challenging hour but I feel buzzing, energised, strong, toned, firm, powerful and ready for anything.  It really is for EVERYONE as this week we had a mix range of ages and abilities from women in their late 40's-50's to teenagers - this means different strengths and fitness abilities but this can apply to everyone and it is great to get a varied mix, together with the music and banter which makes it ultra fun, sociable and a definite date on my calendar for the new term ahead!  Contact neal@fithaven.co.uk and get yourself booked onto Autumn WOW sessions (twice a week) so you can look stunning in that 'little black dress' for the party season and Christmas/New Year parties coming up!

'Nature Reserve' Nordic Walking for Health
Coming in September.  Starts Tuesday 7th September, 12 - 1pm, Paxton Pits Nature Reserve.

This session is for those who want a slightly slower-paced walk for general health and fitness using the fabulous Nordic walking poles. This session is suitable for everyone including the active older adult, those with hip, knees or back problems, if you have a medical condition, want to get fitter and for those who walk with poles already but find the other regular sessions a bit too far, fast or intense at the moment and those looking to learn or get better with the pole technique.  You will still gain all the amazing health, wellness and fitness benefits of Nordic walking but will be able to take your time, enjoy the outdoors and socialise with other like-minded people too!  Price:  £6 per session including pole hire, pay as you go, no need to book, just turn up!    Suitable for ALL!  Contact Mel if you have never tried it before you come please!  Email Mel:  mel@fithaven.co.uk .

FIT-Pilates FOR MEN
Wednesdays, 7.25 to 8.25pm, Buckden Millennium Centre.  Starts Wed 8th September.  ecoming one of the most popular classes on the timetable this is a specifically tailored Fitness-Pilates session to suit the needs of the male form, focusing on improving core & back strength, range of movement and muscle flexibility as well as streamlining the abdominal muscles and improving posture and balance too. 

This class is suitable for ALL Men of ANY age whether you are a complete beginner or already take part in sports of other physical activities.  This class attracts men from their mid-30's to mid-70's - so guy's what are you waiting for...  Email mel@fithaven.co.uk for more details or just turn up on Wednesday nights in Buckden...

Women On Weights (WOW)
