About Mel – Your Nordic Walking Instructor
GET Up… GET Out… GET Nordic Walking with FitHaven!
Mel discovered Nordic Walking in 2006 when visiting the Lake District for the first time and also at FitPro – the big yearly Fitness Convention at Loughborough University. It was there she signed up for the LEKI Nordic Walking Workshop and had her first go, bought some poles, and has never looked backed and can honestly say that Nordic Walking has totally changed her life – and she LOVES it.
She now offers one of the most comprehensive weekly Nordic Walking timetables in Cambridgeshire, if not the UK and has fully embraced this wonderful outdoor exercise in both her professional and private life together with her little dog Millie and she wants to share her passion for fitness, exercise, general wellbeing and Nordic Walking in the great outdoors with you.
She is a fully qualified and highly experienced Fitness Professionals, and trained with LEKI (Drummond Education), Nordic Walking UK, British Nordic Walking and is also a part of the International Nordic Walking Federation. She risk assess every route, holds full liability insurance and is a trained first-aider too.
“We are extremely lucky to live in an area that provides us with the most PERFECT terrain for Nordic Walking with the right mix of tracks and trails on both flat and slightly hilly land to give us fantastic benefits for the WHOLE body. There is also something magical about exercising outdoors, whatever the weather, and after Nordic Walking we feel recharged, re-energised and have an immense sense of well-being that keeps us wanting more… You REALLY must try it!”
