Nordic Walking for Health
Wednesday mornings, 11am to 12.30pm, Mandeville Hall, Kimbolton. 

Nordic walking burns more calories per hour compared to normal walking alone - 40% more calories infact. 'Nature Reserve' Nordic Walking for Health
Coming in September.  Starts Tuesday 7th September, 12 - 1pm, Paxton Pits Nature Reserve.

This session is for those who want a slightly slower-paced walk for general health and fitness using the fabulous Nordic walking poles. This session is suitable for everyone including the active older adult, those with hip, knees or back problems, if you have a medical condition, want to get fitter and for those who walk with poles already but find the other regular sessions a bit too far, fast or intense at the moment and those looking to learn or get better with the pole technique.  You will still gain all the amazing health, wellness and fitness benefits of Nordic walking but will be able to take your time, enjoy the outdoors and socialise with other like-minded people too!  Price:  £6 per session including pole hire, pay as you go, no need to book, just turn up!    Suitable for ALL!  Contact Mel if you have never tried it before you come please!  Email Mel:  mel@fithaven.co.uk .

FIT-Pilates FOR MEN
Wednesdays, 7.25 to 8.25pm, Buckden Millennium Centre.  Starts Wed 8th September.  ecoming one of the most popular classes on the timetable this is a specifically tailored Fitness-Pilates session to suit the needs of the male form, focusing on improving core & back strength, range of movement and muscle flexibility as well as streamlining the abdominal muscles and improving posture and balance too.

Fitness-Pilates
FitHaven Fitness-Pilates mixes Pilates-based exercises with modern stretch  and gentle body conditioning techniques using resistance bands or light hand weights to strengthen, lengthen and tone tight muscles. This is a fun, easy-to-follow session designed to tone your abdominals, strengthen your back, enhance your posture, control balance  & maintain flexibility too.  There is a happy mix of standing and floor work exercises for all abilities, ages and levels.

Abs & Back Fitness-Pilates
This is a mat-based class using specifically designed exercises to help strengthen and tone the core abdominals, waistline, back, buttocks, hips and thighs. Incorporating the use of mini-balls & light hand weights this session WILL change the shape of your body for good!

This class is a fabulous opportunity for those returning after having a baby, have back problems or injuries or want to develop a stronger core, pelvic floor, waistline and back muscles.  Gentle, yet extremely effective Pilates-based exercises and a lovely relaxation to finish make this a wonderful mid-week class to attend.

This class will utilise the BALL to help strengthen, tone and streamline the Abs, Back and Core in no other way - PLUS it is great FUN too!  This totally unique class also brings you core fat burning exercises on, around, over and under the BIG Ball as well as movements to help strengthen and support core muscles including the hard-to-get-to muscles PLUS the use of all the other balls with also improve all over body tone, balance and overall coordination and body condition. 

PLEASE NOTE: BIG Balls will be provided, on a first come basis as this type of equipment will be limited in number due to storage - please bring your own if you have one.

Newbody Workout
The NEW class is a modern, fun, & vibrant mix of all the essential elements you need to get fit, stay healthy, tone up and remain supple and strong. 

A specially designed FUN and FAT Blasting Workout which will include 20 mins of fat burning cardio, 20 mins of functional Body Conditioning and 20 mins of Fitness-Pilates/Fitness-Yoga based core conditioning & back strengthening exercises all to upbeat motivational music. 

A relaxation/stretch will finish the class and leave you feeling absolutely FABULOUS!!!

Nordic Walking Classes

Nordic Walking (Experienced, Improvers Health, Fitness and Challenge Sessions)
Join Neal and Mel for the FASTEST GROWING outdoor exercise that is sweeping over Europe and the UK as we speak!  Nordic Walking has all the elements of regular walking with the inclusion of specially designed Nordic walking poles to exercise the whole body, rather than just the legs. You use your arms to push off from flexible poles which helps the whole range of upper-body muscles being used as well as helping to strengthen the back, give you a better posture and train and tone the abdominal muscles too. Regular Nordic Walking takes place for Experienced Nordic Walkers on Monday's, Wednesday's & Saturdays (including CHALLENGE Nordic).  Friday's is for Health Nordic Walkers so Click here to access the Nordic Walking schedule.

BEGINNERS/Introduction to Nordic Walking
Learn how to Nordic Walk in a group, to help you build up your confidence, stamina and technique in this amazing outdoor exercise form.  It will also prepare you and your fitness levels for either the regular sessions or other exercise forms that you may be interested in.  We promise that this will be a fun, easy yet extremely effective outdoor exercise experience that we know you are going to love

Nordic Walking for Parkinson's
*Spring/Summer Time ONLY*
 
Nordic Walking can really improve balance and stability to make walking actually feel easier especially for those who suffer with Parkinson’s and results are showing they can really benefit from this form of exercise.  This is a subject close to Neal's heart as his father has suffered from Parkinson’s for over thirty years and he is Personal Training clients who are already benefiting immensely from Nordic Walking after only a few sessions.  This session is for those with Parkinson's and their partners.  Please email Neal neal@fithaven.co.uk for more details and to book your place. Sessions take place on Friday mornings.  Price: £6 per person including pole hire.

Specialised Classes

BuggyFitness
A really great opportunity for mums and their babies to exercise together.  This fabulous outdoor spring-time session will help new mums to get fit, tone up and enjoy fun, safe and effective outdoor exercise after having a baby.  The session will also incorporate exercises with your baby as well as postural advice and lifting techniques. 

Ensure that you have been cleared to exercise by your GP - usually 7 – 8 weeks following a vaginal birth and 10 – 12 weeks following a caesarean birth.  Price: £5 per session on a pay-as-you-go basis. Either turn up or contact Neal for more information: neal@fithaven.co.uk!

This Dance-FIT BootCamp series is a great way to keep fit as you learn how to move your body to fabulous music in a FUN relaxed environment without a partner. DANCE-Fit BootCamp will help you trim, tone and burn fat as well as improve your posture and make your feel sensational.  Suitable for first timers as well as those who have exercised and danced before — everyone is welcome!

Class Locations and Directions

Buckden Millennium Centre From Buckden High Street, turn right at the Lion Hotel into Mill Road.  Drive past the church, the school and the  Buckden day nursery and then take the next turning on your right - Vineyard Way - take the next turning on your right - Burberry Road - drive straight to the end of the road and the car park for the centre is at the end.  The classes will take place in the Main Hall which is can be found by entering the front entrance.  PostCode:

Mandeville Hall, Kimbolton From Kimbolton High Street, continue to drive all the way through, passed the church on your right, your turn a sharp bend and Mandeville Hall is situated on the left hand side directly opposite a petrol station. Southoe Village Hall From the A1 north or southbound take the Southoe Turn off.  Follow the road in the High Street.  You will see St Leonard's Church on the high street.  About 50 yards down on the right you will see a small sign for the village hall.  Either turn right into the village hall and park there or just park on the High Street as it is limited and very tight in the village hall.  PostCode:
